I tottaly forgot to post about Danika's first snowstorm!

Danika didn't get nuthin' for xmas...

not from Mommy & Daddy at least! Not pictured is her first Build-A-Bear workshop moose that little cousins Ian & Kira made for her and some other clothes and she still has a few more presents coming her way! She even got a few duplicates that we are defiantly returning! Thank you to everyone, we appreciate everything and love you all!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge them!

I decided a long time ago not to buy her anything. Well I did but her a sippy cup and one toy that we had for a while but never gave it to her! But I think she's covered for a while!

We are off to my Uncle's house. Soon Danika will get her list. Ha! NOT A LIST I MADE FOR HER. A list one of my Aunt's made me to be sure she doesn't get any duplicates that she bought! I am very nervous about this list because where are we going to put everything? Good thing she has her own room now! Merry Christmas! Wow! What a night! There is always alot going on with kids on Christmas, but this year was especially crazy with the baby gifts! There were gifts being thrown at everyone to open, paper flying all over place, people talking loud over each other, kids shrieking and screaming in excitement! We all had such a great time and I love making these memories every year.It was exahusting and I got very overwhelmed but of caorse had a blast. Danika was up way past her bedtime but she did great. She was so tired and I felt so bad for her. She did get some really cool stuff! Alot of it is for her to grown into the next few years. She got a Vtech V. Smile system that hooks up to the tv with cartridges with games and puzzles, numbers, letters, colors. Its like a video game for kids! I know Paul will have a lot of fun playing with this! She got her very first Fisher Price Doll House! Something I know she will ask for one day when she grows up! Also her first big girl baby doll, but I know she will have a ton more baby dolls when she gets bigger. And also a doll umbrella stroller! She got a sit-to stand walker, a talking cookie jar shape sorter and so much more.

Today starts off the next fews days with family and friends. Grandma Fran & Grandpa Skip visited for the day and had lots of fun!

Another Fun Day at the Library

The library events have started up again and today Daddy took Danika. I am so glad he remembered to take pictures (even if it was only 5) and put her bow in her hair. Today's event was a lady singing and playing guitar. Next time Daddy has to remember to take her bib off to to see her cute shirt!

What a difference from when we went this past summer. We used to have to support her arms and back in a sitting position. Now many months later she can sit up all on her own! Paul said she still was the youngest in the class and maybe next tine she goes she will be crawling!

Another Vistit With Santa

Yesterday Danika had another visit with Santa! A different one at a different one at a different location. Who knew there was more then one Santa Claus! Ha kidding! This Santa was at a local flower shop we were able to walk to. And the pictures are free! I even sat with Danika on one picture. We will be sure to be visiting him every year for free!

7th Month Checkup

Today was Danika's 7th month doctor check up! Wow and it was a busy one. Apparently at 6 months babies get their first hearing and vision test. How exciting! We had no idea this was going to happen today - along with getting her ears pierced! ,more on that in the post below. The vision test involved Danika being hooked up to a machine and through a black curtain there was a small screen showing bright colorful images and black & white images flashing. They also covered one eye at a time and she looked like a little pirate! She had to get these round sensor tabs with wires attached stuck all to her head and back of neck using Vaseline. Yuck it was a mess they kept sliding off of her and the doctor had to keep reattaching them. She looked like she was in some freaky science experiment!!!

The hearing test involved putting something an instrument in her hear and it would make a loud high pitch sound but she had to hold it there for a few minutes to get an accurate reading. She did both ears but was only able to get a reading in one, Danika keep moving her head away she wanted none of that! But she passed and as long as the doctor got one result that was ok for now. Danika passed both tests and she gets retested at her 1 year appointment!

Today DANIKA GOT SOMETHING VERY SPECIAL DONE! Danika got her ears pierced!!! Wow what a big girl looking all grown up. Paul & I talked about this in the summer after going to the library events and seeing alot of other babies with their ears pierced. Paul is all into that he has many, many piercings as well as tattoos. So he brought it up at this months doctors appointment and they said they could do it now. I was hesitant because she had just got shots in both her legs and it that that was enough for the day. But I did want them done and we were already there so we just did it! I felt kind of bad in a way like we were damaging her little skin and body. well we did put holes and jewelry in it so I guess ya. When I was young my mother had to bribe me and my best friend with a care bear! But I was much older, maybe 6 or 7? Anyway

Oh right in the ear! This is the only picture we got because I had to hold her arms down and Paul had to hold her legs down while the doctor was holding her head down! Poor baby girl. We believe that the initial sting did hurt but she was more upset to be held down.

This picture is so sad, she screamed and turned red and clung so tight to me.

No worries though soon she was off to sleep in the car to get lots of loving from Grandma! This definitely wasn't your everyday doctor check up, little did we know what we were in for! But see that pretty little sparkle in her ear! It matches the ones in her eyes.
