Danika's new diet

I thought that introducing the rice cereal was exciting, I couldn't wait for the actual flavor to come! After two weeks of rice cereal 2x a day, she was ready for the next step, stage 1 foods. Our doc said it really didn't matter what came first the veggies or the fruits, everyone has their own opinion. But I did want to start her off with the seemingly icky stuff first and to my surprise she likes it! We have to wait 3-5 days before introducing the next taste, but I can't wait more then the 3 days because this is all so fun and exciting! Plus she has got to catch up because at age 6 months she can start some stage 2 foods and some that contain meat! Wow. So I have bought them all, so far they are organic only because they were on sale. And Paul even bought some rice cereal and oatmeal when we were still pregnant because it was on clearance and so cheap, and yes the expiration date is still good!
So last Monday she had Peas for the first time! I swear she must have felt my excitment or just saw the camera and flashed a smile. But at this time she didn't even take a bite yet. I had just lifted the spoon to her face and she flashed this smile! Maybe she knew and was excited also.

Hhmm lemmie try that for my self, gimmie some more of those peas.

The end result, she likes it! This is how it goes with every feeding and new flavor.

Sweet potatoes

Today was the first day of Pears! We were brave not to use a bib, at first.

Cute pics of the week

I have not bought any new style pacifiers yet because she has alot that the hospital gave us when we left. They are the soothie style in the teal color. I believe all hospitals use the same kind. And I got a free sample of another style. I had no idea the soothies came in other colors. They have blue, pink & purple. So when I saw a 2 pack of the pink & purple, I had to get them! And they even make their own special paci clip holder to fit them. I found this flower one that matches the pink perfectly and it even matched her outfit! It had a green string as the stem and the clip part looks like a leaf! Oh I cannot take all of this cuteness! Paul hates it bacuse it takes up her whole face, it is big and can look funny. She really just likes to eat the petals of the holder instead and play with the green string, but I still love it.

I am not going to bed!

I took this picture while I was holding her, I think I got a pretty good shot. See that little mark under her right eye? That was hew first battle scar with Daddy. No just kidding, she was due for some nail trimming but she got to her face first. She not only scratched herself but she tore the skin and made it bleed a little and formed a scab. It was very small and it is all gone now.

I also bought some new toys to attach to her farm yard exersaucer. They are called switch a roos. She loves spinning the chickens and flipping the farm book thats behind her, so when I saw a new spinning fish and a apple book I had to get them. Oh and since daddy always likes a little pink for her, I got him the purse! They just replaced some of the boring toys on their and will get switched out from time to time.

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Today is my mother's birthday! We only saw her at breakfast in the morning before we left the hotel. She spent her whole birthday driving home in the car! Ha! Don't we all look thrilled for the car ride home!? We will make it up to her and take her out this week.

Happy birthday Grandma! We love you! I had alot of fun spending my first trip with you and hanging out in PA all weekend!

Our weekend away

This past week end we all headed to PA for my cousion's wedding. And it was also my mother's birthday. I was really looking foward to this, as another first with Danika. And having her meet more of our family. She was great. She really is such a good girl.
The car ride there. She was so good and slept the whole way there.

The first thing we did as soon as we got to the hotel, was hit up the pool! Ah it was so relaxing after that long drive.

She stood up on the steps all by herself! What a big girl.

Swimming with Daddy!

She finaly got to wear her little robe!

Then we went out to eat and it was the first time I actually had to take her outside a few times! She was good but she had started screaming, but not crying! The brewery was very loud and I think she was trying to talk over us. None of the other guests minded because they all came up to us to say how cute she is as we would be strolling her around the tables.

We were able to walk there from our hotel and as soon as we left the restaurant she feel asleep. And as soon as we got back to the hotel she woke up. Of coarse.

The hotel provided this little pack n play for her to sleep in. I felt like she was sleeping on the floor. The mattress was set all the way at the bottom for her to lay in. She didn't know where she was.

Aaww the next morning, is the first time Grandma got to feed her rice cereal!!!

Is this little girl all dressed up for a wedding or what!?

From head to toe, she was swimming in a pool of tulle!

The happy family. Can't you tell by the looks on our faces! Ha!

Danika raised her glass to toast

Danika ringing her bells

She really got into the festivities

Is it just me, or do these three look like they are singing?

Her last night partying at the hotel

The car ride home. She did have a little melt down so we had to stop somewhere in NJ for an outfit/diaper change and a visit to Dairy Queen!

I had a lot of fun, but it feels good to be home

Ahh happy to be asleep in my own bed

Happy 5 month birthday!!!

Danika! Your 5 months old today, what are you up to these days?
You have been eating rice cereal for almost 2 weeks now! Soon you will start the veggies and fruits. I was so excited to see your reaction and you just stared at us because we had the camera in your face and we were laughing at you, plus you didn't know what the heck I had just fed you. You must always hold your spoon and feed yourself. You are reaching out and grabbing for things alot. Everything goes straight to your mouth!
You wear 3-6 month size clothes and still a size one diaper, soon we will move you up. You have already become quite the little socialite. You have been to a few parties already and love getting dressed up. And we have alot more big events coming up very soon! And I must say you are also quite the little flirt! Every time we are out and are holding you lots of people stop to talk to us, comment on how cute and friendly you are, ask about your age and love how you smile and laugh at them. Someone always strikes up a conversation with us and you love it. Your hair grew in a lot and I can know put little bows in your hair!
Your new favorite toy is your ExerSaucer. You really do look like such a big girl in it! You love to roll the chickens and flip the book.
On a sadder note, mommy started working again on Monday. Its really hard knowing that you and Daddy are having so much fun at home, but I gotta do what I gotta do, I guess. Anyway besides me, you couldn't be in better hands. He has already said that you roll over sometimes! He has tried to get it on video for me, but you have not done it all that much just yet.
We just want you to know that we love you and are continuing to do our best for you.
And I cannot believe next month you will be a half of a year old!!!
I guess she had enough of eating

She loves to sleep on her side

Doing push ups at the gym

Her head is actualy reaches the top of the arm of the couch now! She is so big.

A day at the fair

Today we went to a local town fair, that we go to every year. I have been telling Paul that when I am out with Danika everyone stops to say how cute she is and she just starts smiling and laughing at all of these strangers. Well today he actually believed me and got in on some of the action himself. Telling everyone thank you, and answering questions about her age, as they would walk by and comment. I even hear a young boy say she was cute! He was such a proud papa walking around the fair holding his beautiful daughter. After the fair we went back to Aunt Tricia's for some party food lunch leftovers!
Happy Grandparents Day!

I may be biased, but is this not the cutest little bottom in the world!

Daddy and his baby girl

When we got back to the car, she was fighting a little because she didn't want to sit back in her car seat. I whipped out the camera and I swear she instantly flashed this smile! This little face melts our hearts a thousand times a day! (And no we didn't loose this blue bow just yet!)

Party Girl

Today Aunt Tricia had a surprise party for her mother. It was a great party and Danika did excellent. Everyone held and played with her as she was flirting up a storm.
All dressed up and ready to party! I love that she has a good amount of hair to put these little bows in now! Of coarse we already lost this purple one shortly after arriving at the party!

Just hanging out. I regret getting a group shot with all of our friends. Yes she wears at least 2-3 outfits per day, due to drool, spit up, diaper blowouts, weather change...and simply why not? You know she has a TON of clothes!!! Here is party dress #2

At home after the party (Thanks Aunt Kathy for my Gymboree dress, we love it and remember it seemed like it would be forever untill she would fit into it! She has also worn the matching knit sweater a lot already this summer in the evenings during our walks at Grandma's house)

Danika's new eating must have

Check out her new bib! Thinks its big enough? It is vinal so it wipes down easy after eating. No more washing a ton of bibs per day. And yes she now has to feed herself everytime she eats.

Danika at her "girls only" pink gym at Grandma's house

She ONLY eats if she gets to hold the spoon also.

Wow this Taggies shirt really does taste good! This brand really was a great invention! Danika is always pulling at her shirts and eating them. At least with the Taggies product she has something to play with.

Can you spot the huge wet stain on her shirt?
